Random Stuff
In keeping witht he random theme of this post, I've launched WinAmp, loaded my entire library and set it to random. This is interesting! I've gone from Blink 182 to Frank Sinatra LOL.
Phrase you will never hear me say on the air: "Tune in to find out... same Jonathan time, same Jonathan station." A certain radio personality on a certain station said that recently (substituting his own name, of course) and I laughed out loud because it was so lame. Granted, I've been known to let a block of cheese go on the air but, good grief, never anything anything like that (I don't think anyway LOL).
On my lunch break today, I was flippin' channels and I found Sponge Bob Squarepants on Nick. The quote of the day came from the porous one: "I firmly believe in my ability to successfully succeed." Words of wisdom there! LOL
Anyone that knows me even a little bit knows that I absolutely love to read. I went to Jefferson Pointe tonight and ended up in Barnes and Nobile (there and Starbucks are among my favorite places in Fort Wayne at this point). I found two books in the discount section that I just couldn't pass up. One was Roy Blount's Book of Southern Humor. Now, you know I'm from the South and I couldn't pass that up! So far it's frickin' hilarious. I also bought The Best of Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. Mostly to use for show prep. Seriously! That book has some really good stories in weird facts in it. Hey, that's a tax write off!
Earlier tonight I was walking down "Memory Lane" and was remembering all the good times I had being involved with sports teams in high school and college. I emailed my old coaches to tell them how I've been doing and to let them know that I apprecaite them giving me the opportunity to experience those times and for helping me become who I am today. I know I haven't talked about those experiences much so I'll tell the short version. In high school I was a manager for football (two years), baseball (three years), soccer (three years) and even girls softball! Well, more or less, I was an assistant coach for the last three. I even coached in some games which was really cool. But I had some great times on bus trips... also being part of a baseball team that was second in the state of Mississippi in 2A baseball was a great experience. Honestly, we got screwed out of that game... Anyway, in college I was a student assistant (fancy term for manager) for the soccer team. That was an awesome experience because we won the National Junior College Athletic Association national title in 2000 (and I have the ring to prove it!). Not to mention all the friends I made. One of the guys that was on the team with me (Damani Ralph, from Jamaica) is now playing pro soccer with the Chicago Fire.
Also, I want to say hello to Amanda, my former girlfriend in Mississippi. She and the guy she was dating before me just got back together and they seem to be doing well. I hope everything works out for you!
Well, that's about all I have for tonight. Think I'm gonna call it a night.
