Are You Ready For Some Football?!
Greetings to the three who read these ramblings! I wish I had more time to write in here but I really don't. I try to make time but it seems like something ALWAYS comes up. Not much I can do about that I suppose. What can I say, radio's a busy lifestyle!
For those of you who don't know, I'm heading home for Christmas on December 21 and returning to F-Dub on December 28. I wish I was down there now! This is championship weekend for high school football in Mississippi and the Meridian Wildcats are playing for the class 5A title tomorrow night at 7:00 in Jackson. I didn't go to Meridian High School but I lived not far from there and it's always good to see a team from near by going for something so huge. Meridian has a storied past when it comes to football. Many times have they made the trek to Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson to play in the title game. Their last championship came in 1990. Yep, that's 15 years. Good luck to the Wildcats! I wish I could be there to cheer you on.
I can't wait for the trip home! Less than two weeks and I'll be winging my way to Jackson, MS from Indy. This will be my second time to fly and my first time alone. The last time I flew, it was to Las Vegas for the National Assosciation of Broadcasters convention in 2001. It was a good time and all but I wasn't yet able to enjoy the benefits of Vegas since I wasn't 21 yet. DAMN IT! But I digress. I can't wait to see all my family and friends. I can't believe it's been an entire year since I was last in Dixie. It's going to be awesome. Yes, I shall do my annual post from my home, which I understand has been completely remodled (I'm speaking of my house).
That's all I have for now. I'm about to go out in the station van. Until next time...
